The SBM1000 is a self-propelled sickle bar mower for long grass, hay meadows, alfalfa and roadside verges. The reciprocating blade cuts with a scissor action between blade and finger guards, so it works on uneven ground without scalping, handles stalky growth that blocks a rotary deck, and leaves the cut material lying in a windrow ready for collection.
A 7 hp four-stroke engine drives the wheels and blade bar through a gear selector with two working speeds. The blade bar is fitted ahead of the front wheels with a break-back hinge — hit a stone and it swings back instead of bending. The handlebar adjusts in height and side offset so the operator walks on uncut ground.
Typical buyers are smallholdings, horse paddock owners and roadside maintenance crews.
