The SC400 is a petrol scarifier for lawns that have gone spongy with moss and thatch. The 18-blade cassette cuts vertical slits through the surface layer, pulling out dead material so air, water and fertiliser reach the roots again; a spring-tine cassette is available for lighter raking work.
Working depth is set with a central adjuster from +10 mm above the surface to -15 mm below it, and the 45 litre collector catches most of the lifted material. The 4.3 kW four-stroke engine keeps blade speed steady in dense thatch, and the folding handlebar lets the unit ride in a small van.
Typical users are lawn-care contractors, sports grounds and garden service companies that need scarifying twice a year.
